Crazy Frog Remix (House) I actually made this way before the Axel F version came out and I had the original sample before it was a ringtone too! This tune was made very quickly with samples but it worked and went down well everywhere I played it. Pure cheese! I did an Acapella for the layout of the vocal (If you can call it that). Might put that up if you want it. You could mix it with anything!
Deck the Halls (DnB remix) Yes, tis the season to be jolly, or as Ren Doller says "Smokin' w**d and drinkin voddy"! Simple DnB beat, behind twinkly Christmas bells playing the melody of deck the halls start this off. A smooth rolling bassline takes place of the bells to make a funky DnB remix of the tune. This flips to a nastier distorted bass that contrasts the mellow bass. These chop and change between each other and the tune continues, funny to drop at a DnB gig, people don't realize it's the deck the halls melody until you tell them!
Ebony Dubsters - Ra (Remix) This tune was huge, not to be beaten just changed slightly, I prefer my intro but the drop doesn't do my tune justice! The big tribal drums and vocal sample build twice for tension to finally the drop. I went for a DJ Zinc type wobbler bassline which did work, although not as powerful as the original. The drums are not as heavy as I think they should of been. Funky remix, this could do with a re-vamp I think too.
MC Gleem - Fight for survival (Abstract remix) MC Gleem tune, fight for survival, massive bars! Bllaaaaarrrrk!!! This is the original remix I did and some of the lyrics are off timing, but only if you've heard the original would you realize. The drums are so abstract that it works in it's own way. The chorus is doubled up which is different from the original. I like the sub bass and the didgeridoo's, they add the dark side to the abstract backing. "Fighting for a lost cause, wondering Gosport".
Jamie T - Sheila (DnB Remix) R.I.P. Higgins. A friend of mine past away 2007 and this tune was played at his funeral. I knew him through the Rinsed Drum n Bass events I ran in Gosport's Sidewalk club. It was an idea me and MC Ren Doller had to remember him by to be played at the Rinsed following his funeral, that would be attended by a lot of his mates. I chose the chorus and the lyric "Fella's will be fella's till the end of time", and "together we have fun". Seemed to suit Higgins and his mates. The bassline on this is ripping and jumpy percussions make this one of the better tunes I've made. I like the additional wobbles on the end of the bassline when it gets going.
N-Trance - Set you free (DnB Remix) BIG TUNE!! I made this on Music 2000!! Believe it or not!! Used samples from the single and came up with this little beauty. At first I was unsure of it but it's grown and grown on me and it's well mastered and has been played out at many gigs and clubs because of the well known vocal it goes down a treat! I like the two different basslines, very simple warm old skool bass line comes in first followed by a hands up break down for the vocals, building up to a delayed drop (Teases you) before unleashing the rolling bass with dub bass stabs underneath. The original bassline kicks back in and keeps the track moving lovely. Re-Load!!!!!
Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang (DnB Remix) BIG TUNE!! Made around the time the Audio Bully's did their remix to give me something original to play after it. I used the original Nancy Sinatra track for all the samples to give it that authentic feel. The build up has been described as "Second to none" and just blows up into the jump up monster this track is! Even after the break and second drop it rolls along nicely, the second bass not being as strong but is very deep so it makes up for it, only to build again into the first bassline - Boom! If you notice the bassline follows the same pattern as the Audio Bully's stabs did on their remix, 3 notes from high to low.
Prodigy - Out of Space (DnB Remix) I made this early on and it was before I heard the bootleg remix that's around at the moment. I have to admit I prefer the bootleg version after making this tune, although this bassline seems to have a little more beef to it than that version. Play this loud if your going to play it as it only seems to work loud! Still a good remix if you like the original.
Rihanna - Please don't stop the music (4x4 Remix) Made when T2 released "Heartbroken" and copied the idea on the vocals in the intro. A simple bass wobbles along this track and breaks into the main parts of the track. This worked out in the clubs and at gigs although at the time people only wanted to hear the original version.
Sean - Kingston - Beautiful girl (DnB Remix) Made in about half an hour again! using samples. The tune was so annoying and I couldn't find a remix anywhere so I decided to chuck this together. The bassline is totally sampled from a sample CD but hey, I didn't want to waste too much time on this tune! haha! Actually went down well where I played it at the time when this tune was big.
Wiley - Wearing my Rolex (DJ Small Paul's Wearing my Remix Mashup) After a playable remix that went well with the recognizable original I stumbled across about 7 different remixes from house to garage to bassline. This is a 7 minute mashup of all the remixes together. Played this out at the Blue Print Parties in Portsmouth and got a great reception for it. The remixes are kept at their original speeds as this gave the mashup more depth when changing between each one. My favourite part is the pick up from the second breakdown.
